Bank's Implementation of MFT Solution
A GIS/Sterling Integrator Success Story
THE COMPANY:
Large Bank in need of new Managed File Transfer (MFT) solution to
securely manage large volumes of data while replacing multiple
legacy applications.
THE CHALLENGE :
- Provide a unified platform for MFT.
- Replacement system must accommodate changes to internal systems
and increased demands for information regarding file transfers.
- Must provide web interfaces for both internal and external
customers to manage day-to-day questions, without losing any of the
needed protocols.
- Limited or no impact to external trading partners.
THE SOLUTION:
Oxford architected a solution using Sterling Commerce’s Gentran
Integration Suite (GIS)/Sterling Integrator as the base platform for the MFT solution. GIS/Sterling Integrator
replaced three legacy file transfer products across three business
areas. By leveraging GIS/Sterling Integrator adapters, and configuring components within the
DMZ, integrated monitoring now makes it possible to achieve complete
data and transaction visibility through out the entire organization. By
consolidating processes, a single group is now responsible for
maintaining the solution, rather than the three previously required;
eliminating redundancy and creating efficiency throughout.
THE RESULTS:
- Singe point of integration to internal systems and external
trading partners.
- One monitoring solution to track the transmissions throughout
the process, populating a secure web accessible view of the
transmissions.
- Greatly reduced customer service inquiries.
- Elimination of weeks of lost time internally searching for
missing files.
- Redirection of two teams of company resources for new projects.
- Load balancing of data transfers.
- Data readily available for trend analysis.
- Reduction of hardware and software costs necessary to maintain
solution.
